Flaco escaped his enclosure in the Central Park Zoo in February, 2023, and became a celebrity amongst residents of the city. Photos and videos of the owl living amongst the trees and buildings around Central Park went viral. After one year of freedom, Falco died in February 2024 from a supposed building collision.
