Gorongosa National Park with Carl Safina - Vlog
In August 2025, Carl Safina was invited to visit Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique. The invitation came from philanthropist Greg Carr and elephant researcher and woman's rights activist Dominique Gonçalves, who have worked tirelessly to restore the park after civil war had decimated its wildlife population. Carl put together a video showcasing the park and going over his time there:
In 2004, Greg Carr and the Carr Foundation worked with the government of Mozambique to begin a massive restoration project on the park. Now wildlife populations are returning, and the park has proven to be a boon for the local economy.
